Support Groups
- Facilitated by trained, supervised volunteers
- Currently running in Manhattan
- Want to volunteer?
Drop In Groups
- Groups meet weekly at scheduled times and places
- Group schedule appears in BP and SIDA magazines, and is posted around the community
- Individuals may come at will, no pre-registration required
- Attendees are asked for basic demographic information in order to maintain accurate statistics (optional, this is kept
confidential)
- Donations are accepted but not mandatory
Body Positive's drop-in support groups are designed to introduce you to us and the supportive services we offer. They are a great place for people who are newly diagnosed or inexperienced with support groups to talk and listen to others who are going through similar experiences, to learn that they are not alone.
Drop-in Schedule
Thursday - HIV+ & HIV AFFECTED GAY MEN (Ages 40 +) 6:30-8:00 P.M., Lesbian & Gay Community Services Center, 208 West 13th Street. Take A, C, E, F, 1, 2, 3,or 9 train to 14th St.
Friday - HIV+ YOUNG GAY MEN (20's and 30's) 6:30-8:00 P.M., Lesbian & Gay Community Services Center, 208 West 13th Street. Take A, C, E, F, 1, 2, 3, or 9 train to 14th St.
Enrolled Groups
- Interested individuals should contact BP and have a telephone intake done.
- Individuals are contacted when group becomes available (based on interest, available space, and available facilitators) and register at that time.
- Groups meet once weekly in closed sessions.
- Donations are accepted but not mandatory.

Support Groups:
Couples Group – Six week enrolled group. Focuses on problems facing HIV infected and affected partners. For hetero and same sex couples.
Disclosure and Safer Sex – A unique 5 week enrolled group that offers solutions about how to disclose your HIV status to family and friends and how to negotiate safer sex. For gay men only.
Newly Diagnosed Gay Men – Diagnosed HIV+ in the past six months? New six week enrolled group for newly infected HIV+ gay men.
HIV+ Crystal meth support group Using? Abstaining? Trying to abstain? Body positive is offering a six week enrolled support group for those individuals ready to make a new beginning without tina.
Ladies Only HIV+ 6 Week Support Group Come and discuss what's on your mind with women walking in your shoes!
